Why does the process start so early?

Year 9 may seem too early for individuals to start their college recruitment process, they are often only 15 years of age and may think they have years ahead before they even have to think about it. However, top programs recruit early so if an athlete wants to compete at a top university they are highly advised to start the process as early as possible. It is also crucial to start at this age as there are a lot of eligibility requirements. If you don’t take a particular course, aren’t meeting specific academic grades or athletic markers you won’t be able to compete under the NCAA rules. It is for these reasons that we advise you to follow this timeline.

It is important to note that if you aren’t 100% sure if you want to compete at a US University, or aren’t aware of this pathway until later in your final year of school, it is of course okay to start the process at any stage!

If you are considering this post-school pathway, contact us and we will happily discuss your options and requirements for gaining a sport scholarship to a US University.
