WHAT IS THE ACT?

The ACT is a type of entrance exam used by USA Universities and Colleges to determine an individual’s readiness for college.

It consists of four sections including English, Reading, Math and Science, with an optional 40-minute essay section. Overall, it lasts for 2 hours and 55 minutes without the essay and 3 hours and 35 minutes with the essay.

Each section of the ACT is scored on a 1 to 36 point scale with the overall score being an average of those four scores, also on a scale from 1 to 36. If you take the optional 40-minute essay section, this score will be separate from your overall score.
